What does this mean? You’re in safe hands. As Mitsubishi approved installers RevolutionCare understand our customer’s needs and can correctly service and maintain your heat pump. We have, to date, over 400 heat pump installations across the UK.

Cleaning recommendations for all heat pumps

Mitsubishi ECODAN

  • Recommend annual checks that garden debris and leaves are not building up behind the unit. They also recommend that the coil is washed every year.
  • Require an annual service by an Accredited Ecodan Installer to carry out a visual inspection and check that the power terminal blocks are tight.

In icy and snowy weather it is recommended that you brush the snow from the unit and clear the surrounding area. If ice has formed on the outside of the unit, it should be removed with warm water and cloth.

Do NOT use boiling water from a kettle as this could damage the external plastic casing.

If grime or dust accumulates on the outside of the unit be sure to use non-flammable and non-toxic cleaning products. For example; washing up liquid should be used instead of bleach products. Spraying hazardous substances or gardening chemicals within close range of the heat pump unit can be dangerous. Spraying flammable chemicals directly into the unit could cause fire or explosion.

  • If the heat pump is started after having been shut down for longer than 3 months, it is recommended that the system is first checked over by a service contractor.

Ground source heat pumps

For GSHP it is essential to get your entire heat pump system checked annually by a professional to ensure that it is free of dirt and debris.

The glycol mixture has a shelf life of anywhere between 5-7 years an annual check can monitor this, as the quality decreases then so does the temperature the pump can work down to. This service can incorporate a recommended service by RevolutionCare to the unvented cylinder plus a few other checks on the plumbing side. Antifreeze checks, flow rate checks, underfloor heating flow rate checks, actuators as well are just some of the things that can be checked on a service.
